President Tinubu has approved free CAC registration for 250,000 MSMEs nationwide, with the CAC and SMEDAN partnering to deliver the fee waiver alongside business training.
Good news for Nigeria’s small business owners — registration just got free. President Bola Tinubu has approved free Corporate Affairs Commission registration for 250,000 micro, small and medium enterprises across the country, according to Daily Post.
The announcement came Saturday at the State House in Abuja during the 8th National MSME Awards 2026. The presidency said the move removes financial barriers for nano, micro and small business owners while pulling more entrepreneurs into Nigeria’s formal banking and regulatory system. Beneficiaries get full business name registration without paying the usual CAC statutory fees.
The package also throws in technical training to help businesses survive long-term. CAC and SMEDAN will implement the programme jointly, with interested owners required to apply through the official SMEDAN portal.
