Super Eagles’ Nwabali set for Saudi switch

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is closing in on a move to a Saudi Arabian club as he looks to end his months as a free agent.

Stanley Nwabali’s long wait for a new club could finally be over. The Super Eagles goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, with a Saudi club showing keen interest, according to South African outlet Soccer Laduma, as cited by Daily Post Nigeria.

Clubs in Israel had also been monitoring his situation, but Saudi Arabia now looks like the most likely destination, with the deal expected to be finalised before the new season kicks off.

Nwabali has been without a club since leaving South African side Chippa United in February. The move would mark his first switch outside Africa and give the 30-year-old a much-needed return to regular football — and a real shot at reclaiming his spot between the sticks for Nigeria.
