A police officer serving in Borno State has returned N2.6 million mistakenly credited to his bank account, earning commendation from the state police command.
Mohammad Muhammad, a police officer serving in the Borno State Police Command, has returned N2.6 million that was mistakenly transferred into his bank account. The development was disclosed in a Facebook post shared by Bello Jafar and reposted by the state police spokesperson, Nahum Daso.
While sharing the post, Daso praised the officer for displaying integrity and choosing to return the funds despite the opportunity to keep them. “I would like to formally express my appreciation for Mohammad Alhaji Muhammad, a loyal customer of United Bank for Africa (UBA) and a police officer of exceptional integrity,” he wrote.
Jafar also commended the officer’s conduct, describing it as a rare demonstration of honesty, responsibility and moral discipline. He said Mohammad’s action clearly reflects values worthy of emulation within the police force and the wider society.
