Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have rescued 10 NECO candidates and teachers abducted by suspected ISWAP terrorists during an attack on a Borno State school
Soldiers have rescued 10 victims abducted from a Borno State school during a terrorist attack. According to Daily Post, troops of Operation Hadin Kai freed the NECO candidates and teachers seized by suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters at the Technical Secondary School in Lassa Community, Askira/Uba Local Government Area.
The attack occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Monday while students were writing their NECO examination. The attackers stormed the school, seized several candidates and teachers, and fled into the surrounding bush.
Security sources told counter-insurgency publication Zagazola Makama that troops launched a rescue operation, tracking the attackers after the raid and safely recovering 10 of the abducted victims.
Sources said troops are continuing search-and-rescue efforts to locate any remaining victims, with security operations ongoing across the area.
