Sixteen-year-old Osasere Okundaye has become Nigeria’s youngest chartered accountant, breaking the previous record set by Jonathan Adewale who qualified at 17 in 2022.
A 16-year-old has just rewritten Nigerian history. Osasere Okundaye has qualified as a chartered accountant through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, becoming the youngest person ever to achieve the feat in the country.
Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande was quick to celebrate the milestone, describing it as a product of hard work, discipline and resilience. He said the achievement reflects the enormous potential of Nigerian youth and called on others to pursue excellence regardless of obstacles. The minister also acknowledged her parents, teachers and mentors.
The PUNCH reports that Okundaye’s record surpasses that of Jonathan Adewale, who qualified as a chartered accountant at age 17 in 2022.
