The All Progressives Congress has announced the defection of Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling party. The announcement was made on Wednesday by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, during the party’s 14th National Caucus meeting in Abuja.
Yilwatda, who is from Plateau State, said the development means all states in the North Central geopolitical zone are now governed by the APC. The declaration was made at the State House Conference Centre, where key party leaders converged for the high-level meeting.
President Bola Tinubu is presiding over the APC National Caucus meeting, which commenced at 7:38pm following his arrival. At least six governors who recently defected from the PDP to the APC are in attendance. Party officials said further details would be released later.
