The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Afrobeats superstar Davido will perform at the official kick-off concert for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The concert is scheduled for Saturday at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the tournament’s opening match on Sunday. Other performers include French Montana, Douaa Lahyaoui, Lartiste, and Says’ Z.
CAF promoted the event in a social media post, stating: “It’s all about the rhythm. And it starts long before kickoff! The official #TotalEnergiesAFCON2025 Kick-Off Concert is set with French Montana, Davido, Douaa Lahyaoui, Says’z, and Lartiste.” The event is open to fans possessing a Fan ID or match tickets.
This marks Davido’s latest major sports appearance, following his performance of the ‘Hayya Hayya’ anthem at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He joins fellow Nigerian musicians D’banj and Yemi Alade, who performed at the 2013 and 2024 AFCON tournaments, respectively.
