UN Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Nigeria’s Ahunna Eziakonwa as Special Adviser on Africa. Eziakonwa, with nearly three decades of UN experience, previously led UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Africa. She succeeds Cristina Duarte. Her extensive background includes coordinating humanitarian and development efforts across the continent.
