Nigeria successfully defended their Unity Cup title on Saturday with a commanding 3-0 victory over Jamaica in the final at The Valley in London. According to Vanguard, Eric Chelle’s side delivered a clinical performance to seal back-to-back titles and underline their growing momentum.
The breakthrough came early when Alhassan Yusuf pounced on a rebound in the fourth minute to give Nigeria the lead. The Super Eagles controlled much of the contest and doubled their advantage in the second half through Terem Moffi, who finished off a slick attacking move. Yusuf then grabbed his second goal of the night to put the result beyond doubt.
Jamaica struggled to find a way back as Nigeria remained organized and efficient at both ends of the pitch. The victory means the Super Eagles have once again retained the trophy they won last year, continuing their impressive record in the competition.
For coach Eric Chelle and his players, it was the perfect way to cap off the tournament a dominant display, three goals, a clean sheet, and another piece of silverware for Nigeria’s growing collection.
