The NDC says it’s standing its ground after a court yanked its registration order, with Peter Obi and allies calling it a fresh attack on Nigeria’s democracy.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress isn’t going down without a fight. Hours after a Federal High Court in Lokoja set aside its order directing INEC to register the party, NDC chairman Moses Cleopas fired back, insisting there’s “no order directing our deregistration” — and that lawyers are already Court of Appeal-bound, according to The Punch.
Peter Obi, the Tanimu Turaki-led PDP faction, NDC’s House caucus, and the Obidient and Kwankwasiyya movements all piled on, branding the ruling a calculated move to choke opposition voices ahead of 2027.
