A Federal High Court in Abuja fined ADC and former minister Rauf Aregbesola N1 million after dismissing their application to have the presiding judge removed from a party leadership dispute.
Justice Peter Lifu wasn’t having it.
According to The ICIR, the Federal High Court in Abuja threw out an application by ADC and Rauf Aregbesola seeking his recusal from a party leadership suit — and hit them with a N1 million fine for their trouble.
The judge called it an “abuse of court process,” a cheap attempt to “blackmail and intimidate the court,” and flat-out forum shopping. Each applicant was slapped with N500,000 in costs.
The case, brought by factional chairman Nafiu Gombe against former Senate President David Mark and Aregbesola’s group, continues June 23.
