A Federal High Court in Abuja revoked activist and presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore’s bail and issued an arrest warrant after he failed to appear in court for his trial.
Sowore is in trouble — again.
Daily Post Nigeria reports that Justice Mohammed Garba Umar of the Federal High Court, Abuja, pulled the plug on Sowore’s bail Tuesday after the African Action Congress presidential candidate skipped his own trial without explanation.
Prosecution counsel Kehinde Akinlolu told the court Sowore knew about the hearing but stayed away — and had been consistently delaying his trial.
The judge noted Sowore did send a letter requesting adjournment but offered zero reasons. That wasn’t good enough.
Both a bench warrant and a police and DSS arrest order were issued. The case resumes June 22.
