Newly elevated Nigerian Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu has pledged to advance the Tinubu administration’s 4D Foreign Policy and strengthen citizen diplomacy as she takes on her expanded role.
Nigeria has a new face leading its foreign affairs agenda. Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, elevated from Minister of State to substantive Minister on April 29, 2026, has wasted no time signalling her priorities.
Speaking at her first official function, she urged envoys and ministry staff to work with her to project a stronger international image for Nigeria. In a post on X, she stated she looked forward to “contributing even more to the continued success of the 4D Foreign Policy Priorities of the Renewed Hope Agenda” and reaffirmed her “unwavering commitment towards advancing our national interests in the global arena.”
The 4D Doctrine — built around Democracy, Development, Demography and Diaspora — was introduced by President Tinubu in 2023 to reposition Nigeria as a more assertive, citizen-centered global player.
