According to Vanguard News, a new report shows Meta Platforms and its apps are now key drivers of Nigeria’s digital economy. Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are estimated to contribute about $820 million annually through SMEs, advertising and online commerce. It highlights how millions of Nigerian entrepreneurs use these platforms for marketing, sales and customer engagement.

Report notes that over 14 million SMEs rely on the ecosystem for growth, productivity and wider reach across the country. It also suggests strong AI-driven expansion potential of up to $22 billion by 2035 if adoption continues.
