Nigeria won a $6.2 million arbitration dispute against European Dynamics UK Ltd after the tribunal dismissed all claims over a faulty e-procurement contract.
Nigeria has won a $6.2 million arbitration case against European Dynamics UK Ltd over a disputed national e-procurement contract, according to the Attorney-General of the Federation’s office. The ruling, delivered by Sole Arbitrator Mrs Funmi Roberts at the International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation in Abuja, dismissed all claims, including payments and damages sought by the contractor.
The tribunal accepted Nigeria’s argument that payment in software projects is performance-based and that the system failed User Acceptance Tests. “Nigeria is the first to defeat them. We stood our ground against one of the best legal teams in the world,” said Dr Adebowale Adedokun, BPP Director-General, noting that the victory protects billions of naira for national development.
