The University of Cape Coast, Ghana, has emerged as the top-ranked university in West Africa for 2026, according to the latest rankings published by Business Insider Africa, based on global university performance indicators including research output, teaching quality and international outlook.
Other institutions on the list are the University of Ibadan, University of Lagos, Bayero University Kano, Covenant University, Landmark University, University of Ghana, Ahmadu Bello University, Federal University of Technology Minna, and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, highlighting Nigeria and Ghana’s dominance in the region.
