Sixteen-year-old Osasere Okundaye has become Nigeria’s youngest chartered accountant, breaking the previous record set in 2022.
A new record-holder has emerged in Nigeria’s accounting profession. According to Punch, 16-year-old Osasere Okundaye has become the country’s youngest chartered accountant, earning praise from the Federal Government for her achievement.
Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande congratulated the teenager, describing her success as a product of hard work, discipline, resilience and commitment to excellence. He said her feat highlights the potential of Nigerian youths and should inspire others to pursue ambitious goals, while also commending her parents, teachers and mentors.
Okundaye qualified through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), becoming the youngest person to earn the professional certification in the country.
Punch reports her achievement surpasses the previous record set in 2022 by Jonathan Adewale, who became Nigeria’s youngest chartered accountant at 17.
