Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has publicly taken on NDC leader and former Bayelsa governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, accusing him of putting personal relevance ahead of the party’s mission to win the 2027 general election, according to Sahara reporters.
In a strongly worded statement, Yesufu said Dickson’s post-primary interview failed to reassure aggrieved party members and instead focused too much on himself. She argued that his appearance gave the impression that he was competing with the party’s own presidential candidate rather than promoting NDC’s chances.
Yesufu also criticised the handling of the party’s primaries, saying supporters felt disrespected and deserved better engagement from the leadership. According to her, the registration of the NDC should be a stepping stone to electoral victory, not the final goal.
She urged Dickson to embrace accountability, unite party members and focus on the bigger task of challenging the ruling establishment in 2027.
