UK-based Nigerian footballer Saburi Adeniji dies after Brain Injury

Kings Park Rangers have announced the death of Nigerian footballer Saburi Adeniji following complications from a severe brain injury in the United Kingdom.

UK-based Nigerian footballer Saburi Adeniji, a left winger for Kings Park Rangers FC of Sudbury, has died after suffering a severe brain stem injury. The non-league club announced on Saturday that Adeniji, popularly known as Ola, passed away on Friday morning following weeks in intensive care.

“It is with great sadness that we must announce our number 17 Saburi Adeniji ‘Ola’ passed away yesterday morning,” the club said. “He fought so hard to still be here for when his family arrived.” The club described him as a devoted family man and said, “He will always be a King.”
