The highly anticipated Fury vs Joshua fight, confirmed for November on Netflix, is reportedly under threat after Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh demanded pop star Dua Lipa perform on fight night or the event will be cancelled.
The most anticipated fight in British boxing history is suddenly under threat — and not for any reason you’d expect.
Eddie Hearn confirmed the Fury-Joshua deal is done, declaring: “Signed, sealed, delivered! AJ v Fury is on!” The November clash, set to stream on Netflix, looked certain — until Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh reportedly insisted that pop superstar Dua Lipa must perform on fight night, or the event won’t proceed.
Joshua, who faces Kristian Prenga in July as preparation, remains focused. He said: “The landlord will collect his rent. That is certain.”
Whether the fight happens, it seems, may now rest with Dua Lipa.
