Police and JAMB arrested three suspects for using technology-assisted remote access to compromise the 2026 UTME examinations in Delta State, with results from affected centres withdrawn pending further investigation.
The Nigeria Police Force and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board have arrested three members of a sophisticated examination fraud syndicate that illegally accessed candidates’ computer systems during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination at the College of Education, Warri, Delta State.
Police spokesperson Anthony Placid confirmed that syndicate members gained unauthorised remote access to candidates’ computers during the examination. Investigations have since uncovered additional centres suspected of similar illegal activity.
“The suspects are currently in Police custody assisting ongoing investigations,” Placid said, adding that JAMB has withdrawn results from affected centres pending the outcome of the probe. Affected candidates will be rescheduled for a mop-up examination.
