President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerians to play a more active role in the fight against insecurity by reporting terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements to security agencies.
According to Sahara Reporters, the President, in a statement issued on Monday, praised members of the Armed Forces and other security agencies for their sacrifices in protecting lives and property across the country.
Tinubu said security personnel continue to operate in difficult conditions, from forests and creeks to highways and remote communities, to keep Nigerians safe. He also acknowledged the sacrifices of their families and paid tribute to officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.
The President stressed that defeating terrorism requires collective action, urging citizens to provide timely and useful information to security agencies. He maintained that terrorists and bandits would not be allowed to define Nigeria’s identity, future or national values.
