‘Our abductors don’t want N1bn, Sharia law’ — Oyo principal reveals one thing kidnappers want

Abducted Oyo school principal Mrs. Rachael Folawe Alamu has released a dramatic new video from captivity, pleading with the public and the government not to play politics with their lives while refuting rumors that her captors are demanding a ₦1 billion ransom or Sharia law.

A chilling new update has emerged regarding the ongoing mass kidnapping crisis in the Southwest. Mrs. Rachael Folawe Alamu, the abducted principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esiele in the Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has surfaced in a fresh, emotional video straight from the kidnappers’ enclave. According to Vanguard, Mrs. Alamu used the footage to vehemently dispel circulating media rumors that her captors are demanding a staggering ₦1 billion ransom, cache of weapons, or the nationwide enshrinement of Sharia law.

Marking her 24th day in captivity alongside over 40 school pupils and fellow educators, the visibly distressed principal directly accused certain quarters of manipulating the narrative and artificially complicating their rescue. Instead of heavy financial or religious ultimatums, she clarified that the armed syndicate is strictly seeking a prisoner exchange.

Begging the public to bypass official filters and spread her raw message, Mrs. Alamu stated: “Good day, everyone. Please, I have come to make some clarifications. Today makes it the 24th day that we have been in this place. And it seems that some people are making our problems more complicated already. We were shown some print media where it was stated that these people who abducted us requested the release of some people. They requested N1 billion; they requested that Sharia law be enshrined in the country. These are not true… Please, we are begging you, please, don’t play politics with our lives. Nigerians, please help us to circulate this, let it go viral. They are not asking for Sharia law. It’s not true. They are not asking for weapons; they are not asking for money. All they want is the release of some people. And the government should negotiate with them and know what they will release for them.”
