Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, has expelled 365 students after discovering they gained admission with fake academic credentials.
According to a statement by the institution’s Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Yemi Ajibola, the affected students were enrolled in various Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes and were found to have submitted forged National Diploma results and fake academic transcripts, Vanguard News reports.
The mass expulsion followed a thorough verification exercise conducted by the polytechnic as part of efforts to protect the integrity of its admission process. The highest number of affected students came from the School of Communication and Information Technology.
Reacting to the development, Rector Dr. Koye Jolaoso warned prospective applicants against using fraudulent documents. The report was published by Vanguard.
