The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) and TotalEnergies have extended their decarbonisation agreement for another 24 months. This renewal focuses on deploying technology to detect, measure, and reduce methane and carbon emissions across NNPC’s upstream operations.
The extended collaboration utilizes Airborne Ultralight Spectrometer for Environmental Applications (AUSEA) technology, a drone-based system developed by TotalEnergies. This initiative aims to help NNPC meet its gas flare reduction obligations and its ambition for near-zero methane emissions by 2030.
