House of Reps to vote on state police amendment

The House of Representatives will today vote on a constitutional amendment bill seeking to establish state and local government police as part of efforts to tackle Nigeria’s worsening security challenges.

Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the House Committee on Constitution Review, Benjamin Kalu, announced the decision after plenary on Wednesday, stating that lawmakers had prioritised the state police bill above other constitutional amendment proposals.
