Police Council Ratifies Disu as Inspector-General of Police
The National Police Council has ratified the appointment of Olatunji Disu as the Inspector-General of Police. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, disclosed this in a statement after the Council’s meeting on Monday.
He said the ratification paves the way for Disu’s swearing-in by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, in line with constitutional provisions governing the office.

Alhaji Adamu Abubakar, son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has resigned as Commissioner for Works and Energy Development under Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State.
Adamu, who had distanced himself from recent defections involving the governor’s camp, announced on Monday that he had stepped down from the state executive council with immediate effect.
