Malema tells South Africans: Nigerians, Ghanaians not your enemies, blame leaders keeping Africa poor

South African politician Julius Malema has urged Africans to see unity beyond xenophobic tensions, insisting Nigerians, Ghanaians, Malawians and other migrants are not the enemies of South Africans. Speaking in a public address reported by Peoples Gazette, Malema said both citizens and migrants suffer from the same global system of inequality that keeps ordinary people poor while a small elite accumulates wealth.

He condemned repeated anti-African violence in South Africa, noting killings, displacement and rising hostility against foreign nationals. He argued that street traders, workers and shopkeepers across African communities should not be divided, stressing that the real problem is systemic economic injustice. His remarks followed recent evacuations of Ghanaians amid attacks, reinforcing calls for continental solidarity and urgent reforms.
