Olajide Adediran, known as Jandor, has withdrawn from the Lagos 2027 governorship race under the APC, citing President Tinubu’s endorsement of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat.
Lagos politician Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has pulled out of the 2027 Lagos governorship contest under the All Progressives Congress, just a day after purchasing his nomination forms.
Addressing supporters at Liberty House in Ikeja, Jandor cited President Tinubu’s endorsement of Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat as the decisive factor.
“Within hours after I purchased my nomination forms, there were developments, including a meeting involving the President and the Deputy Governor. It was subsequently made known that the President had endorsed Dr. Obafemi Hamzat,” he said.
He added: “Based on my earlier position that I will align with the direction of the President, I have decided to withdraw from the race.”
Hamzat had previously obtained his nomination form with backing from the APC’s apex decision-making body in Lagos.
