Prof. Iyabo Obasanjo has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, citing persistent disrespect and unfair treatment. She announced her departure in a letter dated May 31, expressing disappointment over the party’s handling of its governorship ticket selection.
Obasanjo criticized the consensus process that favored Senator Solomon Adeola, stating she was neither consulted nor involved. Despite her reservations, she congratulated Adeola but later noted a lack of response to requests made by her supporters, leading to her decision to leave the party.
