The insurgents reportedly advanced toward a military base using armed drones, but were swiftly repelled by troops of Operation Hadin Kai, supported by the Nigerian Air Force in a coordinated response.
Military sources said multiple airstrikes targeted fleeing fighters, leading to heavy casualties, while troops recovered weapons and ammunition, with only four soldiers sustaining minor injuries.
