Former Minister of Science and Technology Uche Nnaji has been arrested by the DSS at Enugu’s Akanu Ibiam International Airport on the request of the ICPC.
DSS Grabs Ex-Minister Nnaji as He Attempts to Board Private Jet to Abuja
DSS operatives apprehended Nnaji in the early hours of Wednesday as he attempted to board a private jet to Abuja, before handing him over to the ICPC for further investigation, Punch reports.
Security sources said the anti-graft agency had previously issued Nnaji several invitations over petitions alleging irregularities in the management of the Science and Technology Ministry during his tenure. His repeated failure to honour those invitations prompted the ICPC to seek DSS assistance.
Nnaji resigned as minister in October last year under circumstances that drew public attention. As of filing, neither the DSS nor ICPC had issued official statements, and the former minister had yet to respond.
