Israel says it has carried out about 3,400 strikes on Iran within a week of the conflict, as hostilities with Tehran escalate and retaliatory attacks spread across the region.
The Israel Defense Forces said on Saturday that it had carried out approximately 3,400 strikes on Iran since Israel and the United States began military operations against Tehran a week ago. Military spokesman Effie Defrin said roughly 7,500 munitions had been dropped on targets across Iran as part of the ongoing campaign.
Defrin said the strikes targeted various military and strategic facilities across the country, marking one of the largest sustained aerial offensives in the region in recent years. The Israeli military also announced on Saturday evening that it had begun a new “wave of strikes” in Tehran as the confrontation between the sides intensifies.rxp-p[=-
Earlier, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it had launched an attack on the United States’ Juffair base in Bahrain, claiming the facility had been used earlier in the day to strike an Iranian desalination plant. The exchange of attacks underscores the widening scope of the conflict involving Israel, the United States and Iran.
