Daily Post reports that the Federation of Ahlus-Sunnah Organisations in Nigeria, FASON, has rejected attempts to link Islam with terrorism, kidnapping, banditry or other criminal activities. The group said such acts contradict Islamic teachings and should be treated as crimes committed by individuals, not as reflections of the religion. FASON urged Nigerians to avoid narratives that deepen religious suspicion, stressing that Islam promotes peace, justice and respect for human life. The organisation also called for stronger public understanding of Islamic teachings and a clearer distinction between lawful Muslim communities and criminal groups exploiting religion. It said insecurity should be confronted through justice, good governance and fair enforcement, not religious profiling or blanket accusations against Muslims across the country today nationwide.
