Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, says only God can ultimately bring Nigeria’s insecurity crisis to an end, even as security agencies continue their operations.
According to Daily Post, Matawalle spoke during an interview with BBC Hausa, following fresh abductions in Oyo and Borno schools. He said insecurity is a national problem that does not respect politics, religion or status, urging Nigerians to support security agencies and pray for peace.
The minister also warned opposition politicians against using the crisis to score political points, insisting the situation should not be exploited to incite citizens.
Matawalle added that some old and misleading videos are being circulated online to portray President Bola Tinubu’s administration as a failure.
