The European Union (EU) has reaffirmed its commitment to Ogoniland’s environmental restoration via HYPREP. Zissimos Vergos, deputy head of EU Delegation to Nigeria, highlighted the UNEP’s 2011 assessment detailing severe hydrocarbon contamination. The EU, a long-standing partner, backs HYPREP’s governance structure for accountability and trust with the Ogoni people.
