Crisis brews in Lagos APC as Tinubu’s daughter demands disbandment of Justice Forum, Mandate Movement

The Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, has called for the immediate disbandment of the influential Justice Forum and Mandate Movement groups within the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the alleged manipulation of party primaries.

The internal crisis rocking the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken a dramatic turn following an open call by the Iyaloja-General of Nigeria, Mrs. Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, for the total dissolution of the party’s primary power blocs. Speaking during the weekly meeting of market leaders and stakeholders at her Alausa office in Ikeja, Tinubu-Ojo—the daughter of President Bola Tinubu—sharply criticized the operations of the highly influential Justice Forum and Mandate Movement. The market leader condemned what she described as political shenanigans within the party’s internal structures, warning that unchecked factional manipulation was actively subverting the true democratic will of card-carrying party members.

The Iyaloja-General specifically faulted the conduct of the House of Representatives primary elections for Mushin Constituency I, Agege Constituency II, and Ojokoro, alleging that valid mandates were aggressively stolen from legitimate winners and handed over to non-winners. She specifically cited the cases of Mutiu Olaide Oladeebo in Agege, Seye Oladejo in Mushin Federal Constituency, and Olotu Emmanuel Ojo in Ojokoro, insisting that these aspirants won their respective elections cleanly before backroom machinations altered the outcomes. Beyond the immediate electoral manipulation, Tinubu-Ojo strongly decried the persistent marginalization of market traders by political officeholders, reminding the party leadership that the trading community has consistently served as the financial backbone and voting engine behind the APC’s consecutive triumphs across Lagos State.

Expressing deep frustration with how intra-party shifting compromises the integrity of political loyalty, the market leader urged party stalwarts at state and national levels to cancel the recognition of both caucuses to preserve structural fairness. She noted that the heavy consolidation of power within these groups has created a toxic political climate where hard work is penalized and internal progress is stunted ahead of upcoming general elections. Reaffirming the market community’s willingness to resist unfair handpicked selections, she said, “We have to cry out now; let the APC cancel Justice and Mandate Forums because our governorship candidate belongs to the Justice Forum.” Everybody is now joking at the Justice Forum because that is where our incoming governor belongs. Are we not Lagosians?. When he becomes the governor, he will not be the governor for the APC alone; he has to balance it. Even when you are the governor, you have to lead both your friends and foes. It is saddening that when a Mandate Forum aspirant wins, he jumps to Justice Forum; it is saddening. It is a way of telling us that hard work doesn’t pay in politics. Something must be done on that because it is important. We are sure that Seye Oladejo won in Mushin Federal Constituency and Olotu Emmanuel Ojo in Ojokoro won in Ojoroko with a landslide.”
