Boxing star Anthony Joshua relocates residence to Dubai

British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua has confirmed he is relocating his residence to Dubai, citing the move in official business filings despite regional tensions affecting the United Arab Emirates.

Boxing superstar Anthony Joshua has confirmed plans to relocate his residence from the United Kingdom to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. The former heavyweight world champion, who was born in Watford to Nigerian parents, disclosed the move in official filings related to his business interests, indicating a change in his country of residence.

The decision was revealed in documents submitted for his £150 million business empire, including Sparta Promotions, where he is required to state his place of residence. The development comes amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel and Iran, which have raised security concerns in parts of the region.

Joshua, a gold medalist at the 2012 Summer Olympics, has built a major business portfolio alongside his boxing career. Financial records show that Sparta Promotions reported profits of £20.396 million and paid £6.65 million in UK tax in 2024, while Joshua also received dividend payments of £10.1 million in 2024 and £6.3 million in 2023. Dubai remains a popular destination for wealthy individuals partly due to its tax policies, including the absence of personal income tax.
