Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has shut down reports suggesting he plans to team up with former President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2027 presidential election, Vanguard reports.
The speculation gained momentum after a faction of the PDP reportedly announced Jonathan as its presidential candidate and linked Mohammed to a vice-presidential slot. But the governor says there is no truth to the claims.
According to him, his political focus remains firmly on contesting the Bauchi South Senatorial District seat under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). He urged the public to disregard what he described as false and speculative reports about his future plans. The clarification comes amid growing political realignments and early manoeuvring ahead of the 2027 elections.
