Atiku, Amaechi, Hayatu-Deen pick ADC’s ₦90m presidential forms

Three prominent Nigerian politicians have formally entered the race for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket. Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi, and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deen have all obtained the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms, which cost ₦90 million.

ADC National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi confirmed the development to Saturday PUNCH on Friday. “Yes, the three of them (Atiku, Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen) have obtained the forms,” he said.

Hayatu-Deen, who received his form from the party’s National Organising Secretary, Chinedu Idigo, vowed to prioritise security and economic revival. “Nigerians are tired of living in fear,” he said. The ADC has fixed its presidential primary for May 23, 2026, with the 2027 general elections scheduled for January 16.
