Eight pastors have been remanded in a custodial center in Anambra State by the Homeland Security Special Court in Awka. They face charges of allegedly staging fake miracles to defraud the public.
The Anambra State Government arraigned the pastors on counts of fraudulent religious practices and obtaining money by false pretenses. The prosecution claims they paid individuals to pose as miracle beneficiaries during church services. The defendants have pleaded not guilty.
