Aiyedatiwa reveals plot to bomb Ondo Govt House

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa says security agencies foiled an alleged plot to bomb the Government House after acting on intelligence reports and arresting suspects linked to the planned attack.

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has disclosed that security agencies foiled an alleged plot to bomb the Ondo State Government House after receiving intelligence reports about the planned attack. The governor made the revelation during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, describing the operation as one of several major security breakthroughs recorded in the state in recent months.

According to Aiyedatiwa, intelligence gathered about three to four months ago alerted security operatives to the activities of a group of youths allegedly planning an attack on the seat of government. He said the suspects initially lodged in a hotel before relocating to a rented apartment, where they allegedly continued preparations for the operation. Acting on the information, security agencies launched a coordinated operation to prevent the attack from being carried out.

The governor said a joint team of police officers and personnel of the Amotekun Corps raided the location, arrested the suspects and recovered items believed to be linked to the alleged bombing plot. “Following intelligence reports, the police and Amotekun moved in, raided the location, arrested the suspects, and they remain in custody,” the governor said. Aiyedatiwa added that investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the alleged plot and establish whether other individuals were involved.
