The entire ADC structure in Udenu LGA of Enugu State has defected to the NDC in support of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, while stakeholders called for adherence to zoning arrangements ahead of future elections.
The entire structure of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State has defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, ahead of future elections.
The defection was announced during a meeting of major opposition parties in Orba. Group leader, Dr Frank Omeje, said the move was in solidarity with the presidential ambition of Mr Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
He stated, “Udenu is now fully aligned with the NDC movement. Victory for NDC in the coming elections is assured.”
Meanwhile, House of Assembly aspirant, Hon Hillary Onah, called for adherence to the zoning arrangement in the council area to ensure fairness and equity among communities.
Onah said key political offices should rotate among zones to prevent dominance by a particular area. He urged the NDC leadership to consider zoning in selecting candidates, adding that credible candidates and unity would guarantee electoral victory in the council.
