Actor Joseph Momodu enlists in the United States Army

Nigerian actor Joseph Momodu has completed US Army Basic Combat Training and officially enlisted as a Specialist

Lights, camera, combat boots. Actor Joseph Momodu has swapped movie sets for military gear, officially joining the US Army after grinding through 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Sharing the news on Instagram, Momodu said he’d been completely off the grid during training, calling it a true test of body and mind. He now holds the rank of Specialist (SPC) J.A. Momodu, attached to 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 3rd Battalion, 10th Infantry Regiment.

For Momodu, the moment carries deep meaning, honoring his late father’s service in the Nigerian Police Force while proving success can be earned through sheer merit. He aced the ASVAB on his first try too, according to The Nation.

He thanked God, his royal family ties to Agbede, Edo State, and the Burbank, California recruiting station for backing his journey.
