The Edo Government is set to recruit 5,400 individuals into a local security corps and has already enlisted 500 forest guards. Commissioner Festus Ebea announced that each of the 18 local government areas will employ 300 security operatives to bolster grassroots security.
The state is also increasing its forest guard numbers to 1,000, following a directive from President Bola Tinubu. These measures aim to enhance security across the state, particularly in border communities prone to criminal activities.
