Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced plans to acquire additional security drones as part of efforts to strengthen surveillance and tackle rising security concerns across the state. The governor said the move builds on earlier security investments, including the reported purchase of five drones under President Bola Tinubu’s administration framework for enhanced national security coordination.
According to a report by SaharaReporters, Adeleke explained that the new technology-driven approach will improve intelligence gathering, monitoring of hotspots, and rapid response to threats in vulnerable communities.
The initiative is part of a broader security strategy combining technology, community policing, and collaboration with security agencies. The governor stressed that protecting lives and property remains a top priority, especially in border and rural areas facing increased risks.
