Former SGF Babachir Lawal has dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing the party’s presidential primary of being rigged in favour of Atiku Abubakar. In a fiery statement reported by Daily Post Nigeria, Lawal alleged that the process was manipulated to install Atiku and his allies, insisting he cannot support what he called a “rigging machine” ahead of 2027.
He further declared support for President Bola Tinubu, describing him as a better option for Nigeria. Lawal also launched a scathing attack on Atiku, questioning his competence and leadership style. The development adds fresh tension within the ADC as internal disputes deepen ahead of the next election cycle.
