Nobody wants Fubara, says Wike

Wike publicly dismissed claims of Fubara’s 2027 popularity while accusing the Rivers governor of violating peace terms agreed before President Tinubu.

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has flatly rejected claims that Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara enjoys widespread public support ahead of 2027, accusing him of reneging on commitments made before President Tinubu during arbitration proceedings.

Speaking at his monthly media parley in Abuja on Wednesday, Wike said the governor agreed to peace terms that halted impeachment proceedings but later failed to honour them.

“Nobody wants anybody. Please, don’t tell me that. Excuse me. You can go and tell that to the market people or children,” Wike said.

He added, “That you appeared before a President of the country on arbitration, the two parties on arbitration, and these people respected Mr. President, and have done their own part.’
