Shan George has urged President Bola Tinubu to resign over age-related concerns, drawing mixed reactions from Nigerians online.
Nollywood actress Shan George has called on Bola Tinubu to resign, citing concerns over his age and capacity to continue leading the country. In a Facebook post, the actress reflected on Tinubu’s tenure as Lagos State governor, praising his past achievements while questioning his current performance as president.
She stated that the Tinubu in office today appears different from the leader many Nigerians once admired, attributing the change to the effects of ageing. “But at this point, even he should on his own step down without being told. It’s honourable to leave the stage when there’s still some applause, loud or not,” she said.
The presidency has yet to respond to her remarks. Meanwhile, reactions on social media remain divided, with some users defending the president’s record while others supported George’s position, as the debate over leadership and accountability continues.
