Yusuf Buhari, son of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has declared interest in contesting the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency seat in 2027, with APC stakeholders and party sources already rallying behind him.
Yusuf, the only male child of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, has declared interest in the House of Representatives seat for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency in 2027. In a letter dated April 3, 2026, he said, “After wide consultations, I wish to contest for the seat of the House of Representatives, Sandamu/Daura/Mai’adua, as my contribution to ensure a good and qualitative leadership.”
His declaration came a week after APC stakeholders in Sandamu Local Government endorsed him for the seat. Council chairman Usman Na-Lado said the choice reflected a “collective resolution,” while party sources said Governor Dikko Radda backed the move, describing Yusuf Buhari as “the state governor’s anointed candidate.”
